On the way to the gym Mrs. grantcart takes leftover fruit peels and apple cores with her.
As she is walking in the 105 degree Tucson heat she takes her plastic bag and takes out this refuse and puts in the ground for her 'children' (animals of any species).
On the way back she stops and observes the apple core or other tidbits now completely black, covered by a small army of ants devouring this unexpected treat.

within the next couple of waves if the tide is going out. If it's coming in it is bringing even more starfish in with it.
