One day I'd like to try building one of these for local travel

It's a do-it-yourself carbon fiber long-frame recumbent racing bike with solar-powered assist. The thing is very light, fast, and maneuverable. Except I'd like to design a full fairing like a velomobile with landing gear for all-weather operation and even more aerodynamic quality. Unfortunately, I'm not good with my hands and I also tend to not complete major things that I start when I run into too many obstacles.

Here's where you buy the DIY plans.

This bike has won speed races in the solar category (Australian Solar Cycle Challenge). The solar panels are located at the rear, behind the rider.
