she said I don't need it because I am hopelessly computer illiterate and beyond help then our dogs told me that I bore them
to sleep and that's why they are always snoozing away . So is chrome a search engine ? like firefox which I don't know how to use either .

The most common web browsers in use right now are Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome. Internet Explorer has a well earned horrible reputation. It's long been buggy, lacking in security, full of exploitable holles, and a nightmare to deal with for web developers. As of IE 9 or so they have gotten much better however. A lot of people have been using Firefox as an alternative web browser to Internet Explorer for years now. It's more stable, safer security wise and allows for a huge range of customizable plugins. Chrome came along some years ago and has matured into by far the best standards compliant web browser, meaning web developers LOVE it. It's very fast, very stable, and a joy to use IMHO. But to each his own. If you are using an early version of IE though I would urge you to move to something else!

I'm not even sure what that means, or why I would want to do it. I have three open at the moment, and usually start closing stuff when I notice I have a half dozen or so open, unless I'm working on a "project".
