I am, slowly (2-3 people posters per week), depopulating my "Ignore" list

"Meta" is a distant memory, and I'm trying to take the "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us" approach.

I realize that this approach contradicts my previous posts on the subject. All I can say is that external events sometimes provide perspective.

..and before that in GD. I'd do purges after elections.

Obviously, most choose to stay mad, as most poster's ignore counts steadily climb over time.

Once in a while, you discover your ignored person has "left the building."

Still around - but I see no real reason to keep checking - he's gone from my life on DU

Not even curious what he is doing - took ten years on DU to put someone on ignore

1/4 million people in here - and he was the most insulting member I ever met.

He's staying there -

I also only have one person on my ignore list. They're there because they need to be there. I filed a criminal complaint against them. I was curious though to discover if they were still here...not only are they still here, they've been carrying on a one-sided conversation (or a monologue in responses to my posts, depending on how you look at it) with me for months.

I'm just a little tweaked that:

a.) He's acting like there's no animosity between us.
b.) He hasn't noticed that I haven't responded to him in the better part of a year.

You are among the saner posters I encounter in this place, so for you to have a "posting enemy" seems odd.

Still, it is why there is an "ignore" function.

... and soon enough those who haven't been PPR'd get back on my list.

My reasons for ignoring people are many. Sometimes it's as simple as a sig that annoys me, but usually it's people who have been here for years insisting four is five.

I considered it. The pace of unignoring might pick up if the newly unignored don't annoy me beyond all reason.
