I'm on my phone so can't post a photo right now. But I like yours. You look like a kind fellow.

What kind of boat? Is it for fishing? We have some friends who take us out on their boat a few times each summer. I love it.

We can't seem to find lonely coves. We just anchor where there's no traffic and break out the lunch. We see lots of great blue herons and ospreys on Trappe Creek and the Choptank River. Our friends' boat is docked in Trappe, MD, on the eastern shore.

Just after I posted I read this: http://www.timescolonist.com/coho-ferry-smashes-dock-near-victoria-regent-hotel-no-injuries-1.505669 And went on its (slow but) merry way!

I'm becoming more wary of what I put on the net (pics included). Obviously I live in a very progressive area, but when it's on the net, there it is. For good. So I'm keeping a low profile because of it. Next time you're in town, we'll just have to have tea. High tea. At the Empress. :pinky smilie:

I've had this kind of generic bearded hippie/biker face and was ALWAYS being
mistaken for someone else the person knew. Once, I heard a woman say, "Well,
DON'T say hi!!!" as she spun me around, locked me in a tight embrace/grind, and
kissed me... kissed my VERY passionately and for quite some time.
.
She finally came up for air, looked at me closely for awhile and said, "I'm sorry...
but you're not Mike, are you."

"Yes," I replied with a very straight, very well-sucked face. "Yes, I am."

A very hot day on the Choptank about two weeks ago. I'm on the left. I'd been dousing my face and rubbing it with ice cubes all afternoon. Hot inside and out (that time of life, don'tcha know). My wife Kathy is on the right.

on the way to the boat, I stopped in at West Marine to get hat bungees. The guy asked me if I was a boater. I told him I am learning to be, but right now I just want to get out on the water. He said "you're a boater."

I hope you can get out soon! No trips for us for the foreseeable future; one of our friends just had surgery so they won't be going out for a while.

I keep busy as both a forum host and on MIRT here, but still manage to keep up on the news. I wish I could tell you we're having a fantastic summer, but all the rain and the flooding kind of puts a damper on things. Wish we could send it to our friends in the Midwest.

Glad to hear that all is going well for you! You deserve some time to relax, hope you're having fun!

Hopefully the rainy weather will start letting up so you can enjoy the summer. One thing I missed while living in NY these past four years was the warm summer of the south.

I still am, but upstate. And if it's hot here, it must be even worse down south. But I'd certainly trade that for our winters. We don't have spring. The snow melts and then it's 90-degrees. When I was in school, I had an outside summer job at an amusement park. I can't imagine that today.

But then again in the south you have easy access to the gulf, and also various lakes and freshwater places to swim and keep cool. I'm hoping to go tubing before I leave in August, so much fun! And yeah, outdoor work in the summer would be unbearable right about now!

And it's hot pretty much everywhere when it's not raining, which can't please the tourists. I've been to Arizona, but that's a "dry heat." The humidity here is stifling. It can't have been as unbearable when I worked outside summers. I drove the train at the amusement park, but I was hired as Cinderella, rode around in a pumpkin coach in a long dress.
