Its more goth type music than metal but I always had a soft spot for goth type bands like sisters of mercy and the like.

(8,217 posts)No wait, I bought the Caro Emerald too after that.
I still enjoy having the actual CD on hand rather than just an MP3 or in the cloud.
I lost quite a bit of paid music from the Cloud at one point. Was not happy.

(2,670 posts)to look at, no liner notes or lyrics to actually give you that attatchment to the person who wrote the lyrics
Besides, some records/CDs/Albums tell a story or have a unifying theme.
It is pretty fun to look at things in that manner.

(794 posts)the downside of digitizing music is the mp3 quality issues and the loss of physical media that contains artwork that is part of the album's artistic extension. Too bad they take up so much space-I've got a collection of several thousand and it is hard to come up with more space. not to mention all the vinyl... the quality of wav files (cda) on CDs far exceedes the over compression of mp3 files. I suggest flac to compress music files for storage- it doesnt compress the music files the way MP3 does. Lots of plug-ins for lots of players allow listening to flac files. There is a big difference that is more noticable on higher quality playback set-ups. If you have to use MP3 encoding do it at 320 kps with a fixed bitrate.
