(20,176 posts)On vegetables:
Fresh? They're probably fine if they look fine, possibly dried-out.
Frozen? They're probably going to be bland but edible.
Canned? They're fine if the can is fine.

(20,176 posts)I might take a vegetable brush and warm water and scrub them up a little but generally they're probably fine for steaming or roasting. (I don't know why people keep boiling them...it makes them awful.)

(72,300 posts)One of my jobs in the past was a food broker.
I've tried taking out of code products to the manager with a gentle complaint. If I find it back on the shelf, I drop a dime on the store.
I guess I've always been a whistle blower when I comes to safety. So sue me.

(72,300 posts)I really do like all kinds of greens. My childhood was in Georgia. We had a small veggie patch out back.

(22,239 posts)Turnip/mustard greens with pepper sauce is great. Turnips themselves are pretty good raw (almost like a radish).

(72,300 posts)My dad crunched on them raw. My stepmother put them up in vinegar. Dad was a meat eater, so greens, beans, fried okra were on the table in the summer months. It was great going to the farmer's market. We put away bushels of fresh things for the winter.

(27,630 posts)If so, maybe it's okay to cook them and see if they seem okay to eat. It all depends on the conditions while they were frozen.

(23,343 posts)Unless, maybe, if they're wrapped in bacon, battered, rolled in crushed corn flakes, and deep fried.
Then they MIGHT be ok.
Bon appetit.
