A month ago I asked if anyone knew a treatment for cracked ribs

I got a few humorous replies and some concerned that I should go to the doctor. I'm too stubborn for that. The ribs are healing up now, but here's a pic two weeks ago.

I have had cracked/broken ribs, hurts like hell. I didn't go to the doctor either. Glad you are feeling better.

Having just recovered from a triple and complex rib breakage that occurred last July, and not my first, I know what I'm talking about.

I used rib-belts, the taller the better, and had several so that I could change them, wash them, and not get sores.

There is a danger with these, however, if worn too tight.

I don't know if yours are just cracked or broken all the way through, but I'm sure it's painful and it will be for a while.

But you should have seen a doctor about that hematoma. I had one about that size from falling on my ass while skiing years ago and while the xrays were negative (I suspect I had a hairline fracture of the hip) I still was given pills for the bruise. Hope you recover well!

Have you gotten any relief from wrapping the ribs with something to give support?

Years ago I was working at a store and closed up at the end of a really cold wet day. When I got to the back door it was frozen shut when snow melted during the day and froze up after the sun went down.

I decided that the "smart" thing to do was unlock the door and ram into it movie cop style. I bounced off it like a superball on marble and pretty quickly realized that it wasn't too bright.

My bruise was a little higher than yours but looks pretty similar.
