Vancouver is sometimes considered a more northerly California. We share many cultural similarities. But I've never actually been there. Would love to go some day!!

Its a lot cleaner, and very beautiful. I think I would rather have orca's off our shore than Great White Sharks.

And I don't know about cleaner. True I've never been to SF but there's plenty of issues here, downtown east side for example. But I thank you. I agree this is a bit of paradise.

She wanted to buy a small cottage near a small village in Ireland and told me
that if I could figure out a way to support myself, I could move over there with
her.
.
And we could go down to the pub and watch the locals gossip FURIOUSLY about
the American (ahem) "lady" and her (ahem) "houseboy".
.
Anybody have any doubts as to why I thought she was an incredible woman?

That's what I'd have been thinking hearing that. You hear of these women, strong willed, intelligent, academic/scholarly minded, cougars extraordinaire , but I have yet to meet them Actually some of the well known female authors have been of this type so I understand.

I hope San Francisco is getting foggy, because that is our air conditioning via the delta breeze!
It can be 90+º around here in the afternoon, then the valley heat pulls the marine layer of fog toward the coast and the inland temp can drop 20-30ºF within an hour or two in the evening.
