Nightmare. What does it mean?

A gigantic spider was chasing me across the lawn and I couldn’t get away. It was light brown and bigger than a football -- and long, spindly, crunchy legs to match. I was terrified. I would run backwards a few steps and it would advance, we’d do that dance again, I’d turn to run forward but it would run around me and cut me off. Then it jumped up on my shoulder and was battering me in the neck and face. I don’t remember being so scared in a dream for a long time.

Interpretations?

If so, yeah anxiety/stress dream. If you have no feelings about spiders whatsoever it might mean something specific maybe.

it could be a variation on the running dream where you feel caught and unable to defend your real position .This could be about the smallest thing you feel caught in -a tiny thing so its no big deal unless you have the dream a lot.
Question ----did you wake up from the dream or just remember it later ?

After this weeks DOMA ruling, you're not sure WHAT will be stalking you with matrimonial designs.

Humor aside, that kind of dream, in my case, usually means that I'm feeling threatened by something.

1 is that you feel like people around you have spun a web of lies and your subconscious is trying to worn you keep away from the predator that this lie may be to you.

#2 is that you have told a little white lie at one time and now it is getting out of control. Once again your subconscious is trying to warn you of the predator that this lie is becoming.

Since I don't know the particulars of your life, I really can't point any particular aspect of the spider to you.

The spider dream might be influenced by the recent spying headlines. The spider anticipated your movements, and was using your profile and conversations to attack you (face and throat in the dream).
