I have given up trying to figure out why. There is a word in japanese: shouganai

Shouganai is actually a shortened or slurred way of saying shiyou ga nai. Directly translated, shiyou ga nai means, “there is no way of doing/going.” It is used interchangeably with shikata ga nai, which translates identically.

The idea of “it can’t be helped” or “nothing can be done” isn’t distinctly a Japanese idea. Americans like me occasionally encounter situations that we have no way of handling the outcome. The difference is that Americans don’t live their lives by this continual acceptance of defeat and helplessness. I like to think that I take great interest in the direction of my life and enthusiastically put forth the effort to ensure that I’m headed in a favorable direction.

I guess if I think back there were some things I posted in General a long time ago that got some arguments going. Prudish, childish people. People can't take a joke or talk about interesting topics without getting all twisted in a knot these days.

I have exactly 0 people on my ignore list. I don't see the point of putting people on it. If they annoy me, that's life and maybe sometimes I can even learn something from them. If not, to hell with them but I don't need to ignore them. The only time I've been tempted to put someone on my ignore list was when someone started bullying / stalking me on another forum. But even then I was too curious what their posts said to put them on the list lol.
