When he died I stood up in church in Jackson, Ms. to express my feelings. I don't remember exactly what I said, but I remember saying that in many ways he was the conscience of America.

I saw him speak in a park in my hometown.... must have been when he ran against JFK? I got a huge HHH poster and hung it on my closet door in my room. I was so heart-broken when he lost to Nixon. What a different country this would have been if only he had won.
