I've been very happy with the way all the shade trees keep my house about 10 degrees cooler than the outside all summer - except this summer, the outdoor temps have been running bt 65 and 70 degrees! I'm wearing sweaters indoors and not outdoors.

(60,020 posts)cold early, then a few hot spikes, to moderate....flowering shrubs and trees all confused and out of sequence. More recently, moderate and sufficiently wet - then the dericho like storm just after Andrea - wind, water....but 90s not really in the forecast.
Making for a happier garden than usual - typically we are roasting by now!

at least that's what my Canuck Calendar says . .
BUT
The weather is definitely changed.
Middle of June, and I'm running my woodstove most nights.
Down to single digits (celsius) most nights - sun for a couple of days, then rain - repeat.
That keeps them biting bugs happy!
And me from getting all the outside work done I want/need to do.
Need 3-4 days of sunshine, warm weather, and no rain for them bugs to stay in the bush.
Worse yet, I'm allergic to bug sprays, all other stuff like skin so soft don't work for me - can't stand a bug suit covering my face/head . . . yup - I've tried just about everything - citronella and all that - BUGS LUV ME!!!
Bugs will be all gone mid-August for sure - then I'll work my skinny white ass off!
