Not usually, but I won't pick up a penny that's lying tails up! It's bad luck don't you know?

(30,947 posts)I am not superstitious, but I wouldn't walk under a ladder, especially if someone is at the top.

(72,300 posts)Since the itty_bitty_golf_cart_committee won ... we had to move a teak outdoors set of table and chairs ... so we also moved 3/4 of a blue stone patio. If there is a complaint about where the hammock is sitting ... the rest of the blue stone will get moved. The new Koi Pond is down to 2 foot in depth thanks to 5 carts of dirt being dug out and moved.
I was a grouch cause the AC really is in the fritz. The power was knocked out this AM due to a downed tree.
When are the oversize loads going to move again. Damn! All of this free time is getting to us!

(7,515 posts)committees of any type when it comes to property are enough to make you crazy... I know.
A/C still on the fritz?
Free time when you'd rather be working is a real curse. It has to improve soon!

(8,492 posts)...I don't pick up pennies, period. The tails up is bad luck and the heads up I leave for someone who may need the good luck more than I do.
I don't walk under ladders, either. Not because of the superstition, I just don't want a can of paint or a painter falling on my head.
However, when I was thinking about buying a Harley, I did cave to biker superstition and changed my mind about getting a green one.

(8,492 posts)Don't ask me why. The funny thing is, most bikers I know are hilariously superstitious! Found this link that has some interesting ideas:

(41,991 posts)I notice if a black cat crosses in front of me but forget it five seconds later. I don't walk under ladders but that just seems smart. I notice when it's Friday the 13th but then forget about it. So maybe I'm too forgetful to be superstitious.
