(20,219 posts)That it's clearly (to me) a comedy piece conceived and created BY a woman.
She is the actor and the star of the joke. Patriarchy never lets the women be funny. Her job is to be hot (No funny faces! No goofyness! No stealing the spotlight! Just wear the mask and pose.) and look on while the guy gets all the applause. Or to look on cluelessly/helplessly while a guy is smirking at her, making jokes at her expense.
None of that is going on in this case.
This woman is taking ownership of the beauty ritual and having a laff riot with it. She is being The Clown, a role women rarely get to enter--but that is beginning to change!
Women everywhere can join in and grok this joke!
