PHOTO: Food Porn Update ("Capellini Alla Cheeca")

Fresh diced tomatoes, garlic, pesto and olive oil on a bed of angel hair pasta, shot Tuesday at a client's restaurant.

Plating is still a challenge in Pahrump. The problem I have with this shot is that the dish / bowl makes this look like a TINY portion (it is not). Also, I'd rather have the pasta be more visible. Anyway...more photos to come next week.

It's an effective use of negative-space to create an appealing entree. Basic principles of visual design. It's clearly a large charger-type plate.

I can see where where would be some concern about the appearance of portion size but those seem more artfully addressed with the inclusion of something to act as a size-standardization object. (something the size of which is known or intuitable as a comparison...like a piece of bread. Less artfully, silverware.) The two basil leaves at-top do that quite well.
