I always thought 'The Crunge' or 'Hot Dog' were the songs that separated the casual fan from the true believer

Led Zeppelin was the first real band I ever loved and they are my still my all time favorite. Because of them I discovered and love the blues, folk, hard rock to heavy metal, and a bit of psychedelia (although Pink Floyd may have had a bigger hand in that). I learned to love music because of Led zeppelin, I listen to jazz and funk because of Led Zeppelin.

Led led me down paths and up avenues I might never would have thought about if I hadn't caught a bug from them for exploring different styles and genres.

Welcome to DU, btw!

Apparently they went through phases, somewhat like Picasso.

your OP inspired me to listen to every Zeppelin album in order on youtube today while I'm working.

I'm up to Houses of the Holy, and I haven't run into a bad song in the bunch..

Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Negates any "unevenness" you might find in their sound.

Never mind "Stairway to Heaven." OTHAFW gave us the 12 string from heaven!
