I posted this in the Baseball Group. It's from the, "It's a small world " department.

NY Mets pitcher Jeremy Hefner grew up in Moore, OK. He went to the Briarwood School.

There was no phone service to the area so he had to watch on TV to see what happened to those that he knew there.

Ironically, today he was at a previous commitment volunteering at a shelter for the victims of Hurricane Sandy in Far Rockaway. Later he learned that friends and family had come through it all with no harm.
