For me, it's frosted bakery.
Long johns, bismarcks, donuts, etc.

(12,132 posts)but I think of the cowboy steak as a bone-in ribeye. Without the bone it's just a ribeye.
either way it's mighty fine eatin'.

(14,400 posts)but it's "long". About 1.5 to 2 inches wide and 4 to 6 inches long.

(34,137 posts)The bakery in my home town used to make those. When the owner died her obituary claimed she had invented Long Johns. I've never quite believed that, but most of the people in that town old enough to remember her still think she invented them. And since the new owner of the bakery doesn't make Long Johns, the myth has been expanded to claim that the recipe was lost when she died.

(8,217 posts)Shrimp - I can finish a tray from Costco no problem. Which is why I never do it.
Steak - I ate a huge porterhouse steak above 24, and it didn't faze me.
Ice Cream - I feel sick after eating this, but there is a reason why I limit myself to those small Ben & Jerry type things.
Sushi
Dumplings - XLB and others. XLB = Juicy Dumpling Awesomeness.

Same goes for trays of cookies.
And I shouldn't really eat anything sweet but don't leave the Halloween candy bowl lying around unattended. Especially if it's full of Twix and Snickers.

(10,109 posts)Hey,
For me it is anything of the salty and/or greasy variety. Chips, peanuts, popcorn, crackers and such. Peanuts and pretzels not too bad for me so I do buy those. I don't buy chips because I would sit and eat half the bag. I have never had a sweet tooth.
Peace

(10,109 posts)Hi,
I don't know my blood type off the top of my head, that certainly is an interesting thought. I will now have to find out and see. I think I have it written down somewhere. Do you also like sour? I used to eat lemon slices as is.
Peace

(4,056 posts)Because I wouldn't bother to eat anything else! Well, maybe crackers, pretzels, et al. I love salt and crunch as well. I'm still waiting for someone to invent a Margarita glass made only of salt, that melts as you drink it. Kinda like an ice cream cone, that's part of your consumption.
I just finished reading Michael Moss's book "Salt, Sugar, Fat", and in it he explains that children don't have a taste for salt. It has to be learned. All I can say, is I learned mine very well! So I stay away from it, since it creates a craving I don't get from sweet or fatty foods.

(5,364 posts)I watch what I eat and have kept 20 lbs I lost off for 9 years now, but ironically those 2 decidedly NON-junk foods I have the absolute hardest time to consume in the moderation commensurate with my planned diet. I love them both but they sure push my willpower resolve to the Nth degree.
Avocados, even though they're "good fat" still are quite calorie laden for their size, and pasta for the carbohydrates.

(4,465 posts)Salty or sweet, it doesn't matter. Chips, ice cream, pizza, pastries, chocolate or crunchy chocolate cookies! I can't bring any of those in large quantities into the house. They'd be gone within a day or two, I just have no control. And it's all I'll eat until it's gone.
So instead I buy a candy bar in the check out lane, maybe a pizza every week or two, single serving bags of chips if I'm out and about or a chocolate shake-
Anything that I find really good and is easy to grab and eat is dangerous for me, unless it's healthy.

(25,816 posts)Verse--" I wake up about midnight
I need something sweet
chocolate is the best
but salt make it better eat.
I make it to the sofa
so I can get my rest
I wake up in the morning
salty chocolate on my chest
Chorus: Salty Chocolate, Salty Chocolate
"You men with a sweet tooth
you know what I mean
chocolate be tasting good
with salt sprinkled in between.
Salty chocolate, salty chocolate."
It's a song I wrote. Great funky blues tune.
My favorite foods: salty chocolate and rib eye.

(272 posts)I made the most delicious English toffee from a New York Times cookbook recipe. It was covered in chocolate, with chopped almonds on one side and flaked sea salt sprinkled on the other side, and in biting into it you met with very little resistance, it just fell apart into a wonderful salty, sweet mouthful. I can't be trusted around that kind of complete bliss ever again, and must be monitored by someone with a large stick.
So glad you wrote a song about salty chocolate... it was so deserving of one.
