Any outdoors DUers who can identify a bug bite / sting here?

It wasn't a vampire, but it stung my neck. I felt it and pulled it off my neck and threw it to the ground, and didn't see whatever it was again. It may have been an ant, but it doesn't look like an ant bite. I was in my condo parking lot under a tree when it "attacked". I live in Central Florida.

Any former boy / girl scouts or outdoor folk who can help with this?

Reminds me of a Wasp bite I had about 2 months ago. (it got me twice in a small area) BlueJazz May 2013 #1
It did feel more stingy than bitey. nytemare May 2013 #2
Meant to write sting but figured you'd know what I meant. (without editing the post) BlueJazz May 2013 #4

If it's a wasp bite, apply WD40. Baitball Blogger May 2013 #12

Wasp or spider I say, in my totally uninformed opinion. Dash87 May 2013 #16

Didn't feel like a mosquito, and it was early afternoon. This happened on Sunday, but I didn't notice the welts until today.

Strange.

Thanks very much for the response.

So I must've thought you meant sting.

It was a mean little bugger, whether a biter or a stinger!

Does the bite have a white center?

They are on an odd place on my neck, so I can't really get too good a look at them. In the picture I took on the phone, there appear to be yellowish places in the bites.

Thanks very much!

Been stung by most all of them at one time or another.
I would venture a guess, that it is a wasp sting.

Felt like about 3-4 times, when I was trying to pull it off of my neck. This may have actually been the first time I've been stung by a wasp. Don't know how I managed that living here in Florida.

Thanks for your responses, and BTW, welcome to DU!

Thought about another type of stinging insect that lives where you live.
Don't think that is what got you but those damn little sweat bees can leave about the same type of sting. Still think it is wasps though, by the size of the welts.

Then alcohol.

According to wiki.

I would think that people have different reactions to bites. I could take four or five fire ant bites and show very little disturbance on my skin, while someone who gets one bite might swell up in the bitten area.

she was really allergic to fire ant bites - her whole face swelled up from one bite when she was about 4 or 5 - scared us poopless.
Neither her mom nor I are allergic like that to anything. No idea why she was and now that she's a young adult we don't worry about it any more.
