I have a little one who's training wheels are worn out and she isn't ready to give them up. Help...

She doesn't want to ride without them.... All the other kids are riding without them and I have resisted pushing the issue.. I've taken
the training wheels off and the peddles last summer and ran beside her down our backyard hill....

Would love to know if anyone has some suggestions for moving forward on this bike ridding without the training wheels-thanks....

P.S. in the meantime: I will start looking around and trying to replace the training wheels...

Most training wheels can be adjusted to move upwards so it doesn't hit the floor Xyzse May 2013 #5

Or tilted them back at an angle, so that it is used less and less?

She's using it as security, so keep it on but adjust so that it isn't being really used.
Then, adjust it again so that it is parallel to the ground. Just adjusting it at a higher and higher angle till she doesn't use them any more.

daughter didn't know it. Gradually she was riding and they were not touching the ground at all, and she figured it out. Then wanted to ride "like the big kids" so OFF they came. Good luck!
