(976 posts)My doctor just told me I have 6 months to live. Cancer does not have a rehab to check into. Movie stars and over paid athletes bore me now, really. Peace

(16,232 posts)And I can understand your bitterness towards the world right now. And maybe towards celebrities, rich, and powerful.
However, belittling another person's mental health struggle isn't good for anyone. Bipolar is a serious mh disease that - as the other posterpointed out - has a fairly high suicide rate. The damage that can be inflicted on family and friends nd children can be devastating.
Ms zeta-jones could have used her "star status"to hide from the public. Yet, she is bravely announcing it to the world in order to help others acknowledge, understand, nd treat this debilitating disease.
May you find peace and comfort in the time left to you. Laugh, smile, hold your loved ones close. Look for beauty in the world. Make every moment count.

(6,154 posts)Say anything. I am extremely sorry to hear of the devastating news. I'm sure all words of sympathy must sound rather hollow and trite at a time like this though. I know I would feel that way. Still I will say it again anyway I'm extremely sorry to hear that. Cancer runs in my family, while I can't say I know yet what it's like to get such a diagnosis myself I can say I know what it's like to know loved ones who have.
