You can rent a place there for a week...or longer to check it out yourself. The valley floor will be in the 80s the mountains, depending on elevation, much cooler!

And eastern TN, for that matter. One of the places I am looking.

Along with much further north into New England. North Shore MA, into ME.

I want a place I can just lock and leave.

Hadn't thought about a rental, though. Hmmm. Perhaps that is a very good idea.

There's a lot to do and the people are very nice. I haven't been there is years, but if you Google Maggie Valley, NC you'll find a ton of info. We were directed there by friends who go every year.
