You CAN change the way it operates,

but you may lose messages from people you want to know.

for detailed info, follow the link below:

I suggest leaving it at the default setting "Basic"

I had a message from my childhood best friend (who I lost touch with) in there and we have since reconnected.

I had an old friend from high school on there, another person who wanted to buy a photo from me, and 8 old creepy strange men who wanted to meet me.

where your regular personal messages would be, click on the little message balloon and the "Other" box on the right side of where it says "inbox".

I just found out about this today, found 14 messages I never knew about...

but, I always forget to check it. I don't post a lot of political stuff, so I don't get a lot of hate mail/messages.

If you don't pay, message goes to "other" folder. So much for re-connecting with long lost family.

Shocked me when it popped up asking if I wanted the message to go to their inbox, that it would cost $1, otherwise it would go to the "other". That's how I found out there was this "other" box. I see I must be in the test market.

It's the repository for anything not from a "friend", such as an explanation from somebody who wants to be your friend, or an inquiry from someone who doesn't want to be one.
