It must be spring

This afternoon I had to field a complaint from a small child who had traversed my neighbors field to go fishing in the river next to my house.

Apparently my aged, very wet and grinning labrador had decided to swim the river to pursue the kid's fishing bobber.

Maintaining a straight face was a task i could not meet, especially since he had dragged the unrepentant culprit to my doorstep.

or the aged, wet, grinning labrador dragged the small child?

In either case, I appreciate that you could not maintain a straight face!

and the air of indignation that really got me.

He must have been all of 70 pounds, a bit smaller then the very wet fat old lab who only understood someone was playing fetch. Or that dog in swim back across on his own
