Differences in attitudes between men and women when it comes to twist ties

I'm referring to those annoying wire ties used to tie up a loaf of bread in a bag, and which my wife persists on fishing out of the garbage where I've thrown it in righteous anger, and then uses to tie the bag up again. I hate them. OK, maybe my hands are too big, but simply folding the bag under the loaf and using a breadbasket is more than sufficient to combat the scourge of stale bread without the added frustration.

I have a theory. I think men hate the damn things and women love them. I base this on conversations with my wife, my sister, and a bloke I met in a pub once, so it's statistically sound. If I can replicate these opinions on DU, maybe I'll turn this into a thesis.

Men and woman are the exact same, you sexist pig! And why did you put men first in these options?

After I open a bag, the twist tie goes in the drawer and I twist and fold the bag opening.

No problem with stale bread.

A win-win

I save the pack of them from a box of trash bags or gallon baggies (which I buy for x-mas packaging) but the used ones from bread get tossed.

now, I am picky about bread bags, just folding them under will make me nag - you must twirl the bag a couple of times before folding and setting down over the open end.

otherwise yes, I hate twist ties for bread bags but they are handy for other uses. stripped to the wire, I call that eyeglasses baling wire

These poll results so far do not match my preconceived notions, so obviously DU'ers are not representative of the population at large.

Bloody liberals!
