"Big Fish" is one of my favorite movies ever and I remember it as a wonderful film...

.
.
.
... but every time I see it, I've forgotten just HOW wonderful the film is.
.
.
.
As in wonderful and full of wonder.
.
.
.
I'm a BIG fan of fairy tales and I think this is (by far) Tim Burton's tour de force.
.
.
.
AND I forget how, for the last 10 minutes or so of the film, I am crying freely --
not out of sadness but, like some folks react to the opera, because of the beauty
of it.
.
Beauty building on beauty building on beauty. A celebration of life.
.
.
.
.
.
And Fucking Immortality. I had forgotten that, too.
.
.
.
If you can't tell... I kinda recommend it.

it has such a nice -southern- flavor to it ... I do remember that and Ewan *sigh* he is dreamy.

The story revolves around a dying father and his son, who is trying to learn more about his dad by piecing together the stories he has gathered over the years. The son winds up re-creating his father's elusive life in a series of legends and myths inspired by the few facts he knows. Through these tales, the son begins to understand his father's great feats and his great failings.

One of the best films ever. I cry like a baby no matter how many times I see it. Reminds me of my Dad and his life.

I recommend Amelie and Everything is Illuminated. You are sure to love those as well.
