(28,791 posts)Here in PDX we held them Saturday afternoons. That way the non-partiers could get home at a decent hour, and the rest of us could get warmed up real good for the dark hours. I'm hoping to resurrect the tradition in May, now that I have my life back
Have fun!

(72,300 posts)Good luck on putting together a meet-up out there. I'm staying in the northeast for now.
This Spring when the DUer rug took some personal time away, I became worried. As my DU friends would if I was gone without telling someone. At this moment less than half a dozen DUers have my phone number. I'm 64. If I disappear no one will know why. I want do change that.
I'm happy for you!
However that happened you sound pleased about the change.

(28,791 posts)Gram passed away in Feb. I've been taking care of her full-time for about 6 years, so everything else has been on the back burner.
She's in a better place now.

(19,288 posts)PDX would be an hour flight or an 8 hour drive. I've wanted to meet other DU'ers for a long time.

(28,791 posts)I'll be posting threads about it in the Oregon Forum in the next week or two. Skinner used to let me make the final announcement thread in GD so we didn't miss anybody.
A warning tho.. we don't hardly get around to discussing politics, usually. But we end up having great conversations about everything else under the sun, and drinking the best microbrews in world at the same time

In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)I will keep this thread kicked.
And I will send PMs if necessary about the information.
Hope to meet you there.
I think it would be fun.
What would the activities be?
In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)Can't think of any better way to spend an afternoon into the evening than visiting with DUers.
One more soda/juice binge day for me.
In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)He is 24 years sober on Dec 3rd.
He doesn't mind how much (or little) I drink.
Xyzse
(8,217 posts)Every single time since I barely drink... Very very rarely.
Especially if I know that there is a drive after.
Only time I drink is at home with others.

(9,129 posts)It's 330 miles from Butler to Milford and after my recent
trip back home, money's a little tight. I'd really love to
meet you and rug, but can't right now.
In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)Maybe we can all get together for coffee or a different meet-up.
liberaltrucker
(9,129 posts)I'll save a couple of sick days at work.
All I need is a couple weeks notice to
schedule them.
In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)I'll bring along another retired truck driver.
After 34 years he will be driving a pilot car with me.
He is returning a Kenworth to Texas now.
