Great car repair resource...

A friend of mine turned me on to rockauto.com today when I called him to discuss a car repair issue I have.

I hit a pothole and broke the spring coil on the driver's side strut assembly recently, as well as throwing the front end out of alignment. The shop won't re-align the vehicle until this is repaired, they gave me a quote in the high hundreds; I couldn't afford it.

Long story short, Autozone/Advance wanted between $180-$200 for EACH strut assembly, and with shock/suspension issues, it's typically good to do these in pairs.

Enter: rockauto.com

I was able to get the pair of strut assemblies with 3-day shipping from Madison to the east coast for $148.19

So if you have a little wrench ability or know someone who does, this is a fantastic resource to save some hard-saved money!

but it still pays to check around for prices. They aren't always the lowest.
