... I'm sure I would have drunk myself out -- MAYBE making it through Freshman year... and had a terrible
time. Odds are I might have never gone back.

I enlisted at 17 for 3 years, got married overseas and kinda HAD to re-up for another three (during which
time I got divorced) and couldn't afford to go to college for another 3-4 years, even with the GI Bill.

When I finally went, I was HONGRY for knowledge. They asked me what I wanted to major in and I literally
asked the classic, "Waddya got?" They couldn't pin me down to a major for the next 4-5 years.

I loved it... and if I could have afforded it -- professional student probably would have been my career.
