Russert kept saying the thing about ending the White House tours make both sides look bad. I believe he said petty. I thought this was an asinine remark. I am thinking the White House has to make cuts as well, and that is exactly where I would start if it meant avoiding giving the staff a reduction in pay or laying someone off.

But on The Cycle, which I try to avoid watching, however, I am snowbound today, they made some truly subtle but ridiculous right-wing type comments. One of the questions asked, I can't think of her name but she has the long dark hair and I believe she is pregnant, concerned whether the Dems were worried about losing the high ground if Boehner makes an offer and we reject it. I wanted to jump in on that conversation and ask, "Don't you think the Dems are protecting the high ground by refusing to cut earned benefits?" "Do you really think refusing to repeal tax subsidies but cutting Meals on Wheels, laying off teachers and others during this recession, cutting off medicine to those HIV infected, removing the housing subsidy for formerly homeless people leaves any room at all, even a quarter of an inch, for a political party to claim the high ground?"

Where exactly do they get these people?

Sam
