My company HR person is the worst!! (HR person rant)

Geez, they get a perfect person for a position posted and they won't even call them in for an interview because they don't have the exact experience they are looking for.

Woudln't they rather hire someone with a history of being a great employee and is smart and multi-faceted than someone who's a shitty employee who happens to have the exact experience they are looking for? Our company tends to lean toward the latter, so half our company is nitwits who end up leaving in 6 months while the other half of us have to do their jobs for them most of the time.

Ok, sorry everybody....I have no respect for HR people in the position of blocking resumes of good workers.

also hate when someone asks for a pay increase and it gets denied. But once said employee quits, they are willing to pay a headhunter fee and a higher wage for the new employee, costing them more than the measly raise!

I haven't.

Edit: Come to think of it, I haven't known any bean counters that deserved the position either.

Vice President of Administrative Operations as the position has been renamed. With quite a healthy pay increase!

They hire a lot of bimbos around here, who are more concerned about showcasing their latest Bottega Veneta bag and Manolo Blahnik pumps than they are about providing an essential function for the company. The grunts on the bottom rungs end up doing the work, while the cheerleading team basks in their glow and fan themselves with copies of Stephen Covey's 7 Habits corporate BS - which they can barely read.

The moment you try to have a somewhat intellectual discussion about topics besides Real Housewives or American Idol, their blank stares reveal slowly decomposing brain matter as few remaining firing neurons try to escape away.

Never sure how they made it out of college - much less graduate school - they nonetheless believe their good looks and polished image will somehow compensate for their lack of empathy, intelligence, altruism and work ethic - all traits that are necessary to a well-functioning HR.
