That's one beautiful bird. We had a falcon swoop past us last summer, like three feet above us. talkingmime Mar 2013 #2

Around here we mostly get red-tail hawks and eagles, occasionally falcons. There are a lot of turkey vultures and MAN are they ugly up close! Just wait until your hawk's chicks hatch. That will be fun to watch.

I'll keep an eye on the nest for the chicks and try to get some shots.

I don't like when my critters are killed. The falcons have a taste for morning doves. I know that's what they do for a living but it's disturbing to watch. It comes with the territory. Sometimes they even look at our littlest dog a bit sideways. I don't think they could snag her, but it does bother me. One of the eagles could easily snatch her. Those things are HUGE! We mostly get goldens around here but I've seen a few bald and they're bigger (especially the females).

Amador Valley south of Mt. Diablo. Lots of critters around close. Deer, turkey, rabbit, squirrel, and the ever loving racoon!

Our barn owl friend gave us quite a show the other morning.

Anyone who has this view is a lucky duck.

Guy we bought herb from way back in the day had a pair of them that he kept in his house. Was quite a trip to have a little buzz on and look up to see those two staring at you

This beauty had a wing span of at least 4 feet. She was keeping our ground squirrels from enjoying their breakfast. *gulp.

Wow, she is magnificent, and you did a wonderful job capturing her...

I esp. like the pics where she has her wings spread!

Lucky you, having your office in such a cool place...
