A friend just boiled some crushed cardamon seeds and vanilla in water. Put it in a spray

bottle and gave it to me as perfume. It is fabulous. Unfortunately it doesn't last more than an hour. Fortunately it likely will not aggravate people's allergies so i can wear it. Been ages since I've had a perfume I felt I could wear without hurting anybody. What scents do you like? I love Anais Anais but, like I said, don't wear any commercial perfume.

Yup. Old perfumes were made from 50 to 100 natural essences and products. Modern perfumes applegrove Mar 2013 #2

Youth Dew. My Mom and my Grandma wore it. They stopped making it for a while and now it just isn't the same.

are made out of 500 chemicals. Why they are so toxic to people with environmental sensitivities. Things are just not 'natural' anymore.

when she died five years ago. I took a whiff and it smelled just like her! I was taken back to my childhood. *sniff*

Once they started producing it again I was so excited until I sprayed it and it was no longer that lovely scent.

I am a surgical nurse so perfume is a no no in the OR. I have a bottle of chanel no 5 that I wear when I am going out or doing something in the evening, otherwise I just don't bother anymore.

years ago and the one that is in the market now just isn't the same. There was also a white musk that wasn't too heavy, but I can't remember who made it. I don't wear scent anymore because so many of them give me a headache.

... 3 or 4 times in my life by perfume and felt compelled to ask the wearer what it
was that she was wearing, not as a pickup line, but I wanted to know what was
knocking my socks off.
.
Apparently I never remembered it, although it was ALWAYS White Shoulders that --
as they say in the blues -- opened my nostrils.

Other than that, I like anything with a vanilla scent.

Anais Anais, Shalimar, Avon Timeless. I still have a bottle of Opium, but don't wear it in consideration to others. I always believed that your perfume should only be perceptible by your sex partner. Natural Brazillian Rosewood oil is great when I can find it.

I make my own with essential oils of lime, lemongrass and lavender. I put it in a spray bottle mixed with grain alcohol. It smells wonderful, but it doesn't last as long as commercial. That's OK because I really like the natural, clean smell without all the chemicals.

and for some reason, men seem to really like it too...but I typically prefer lotions to actual perfumes. I think it's a more subtle hint of a scent.

I have a very sensitive nose, so can't wear anything too strong or I give myself a headache. I do have some perfume that someone gave me last year - Vera Wang Princess. It's pretty light, hints of vanilla, doesn't make my head hurt.

Add a half ounce of vodka, a teaspoon of grapeseed oil and a teaspoon of glycerine.

The vodka will act as an emulsifier and the grapeseed oil and glycerine will act as fixatives.

Add a little distiller water and viola. I also sometimes make one out of lavender. My favorite, though, is nag Champa oil.

I'm allergic to almost all fragrances, including the ones used in soaps and laundry detergents.

One of the only commercial fragrances I was able to wear was Love's Musky Jasmine, but they stopped making it many years ago.
