I don't understand the hatred, either. Sure, she's no Meryl Streep. But, neither are any of the other actresses that were in that hall Sunday night, except for Meryl Streep.

Anne Hathaway has it all: The movie star jumps between lucrative studio pictures like “The Dark Knight Rises” and and passion projects like “Rachel Getting Married.” She recently wed boyfriend Adam Shulman in a Valentino gown. And her occasional missteps haven’t hurt her one bit — potential career-enders like “One Day” and “Get Smart” give way to bigger and better movies. Her former boyfriend’s imprisonment for running a Ponzi scheme was brushed aside. She flopped as an Oscar host in 2011, but came back to win the best supporting actress trophy for “Les Misérables” at this year’s ceremony.

And her public finds it all so infuriating.

Hathaway is the subject of more vituperative, angry scrutiny than perhaps any actress working today. “Shut up. Shut up, Anne Hathaway. I honestly don’t know what it is. Maybe I’m jealous, but I don’t feel jealousy. I watch her in outtakes, and I feel like she’s not a real person,” wrote a blogger for women’s-interest site Crushable. ”I don’t find her perfection charming. I find it annoying.”

Fuck, I'm jealous of movie stars. I'm jealous of people younger than me being both successful and wealthy. I'm jealous of incredibly beautiful people. I'm especially jealous when all of these things are combined.

This was during her acceptance speech. It was a "who? Little ol' me?" speech. He backed this up with something about the wealthy white collar criminal conman she is dating/married to.

12. I think it's the faux "omg I won" attitude

when everyone knows she's been campaigning hard for an Oscar & not being gracious about it. "Pretending" that her acting in Les Mis was "okay" & getting nominated for an Oscar was no big deal. I was hoping she'd lose just so I could enjoy watching her swallow her teeth, but oh well.

"Dreams do come true." I didn't believe that was sincere for a second....best supporting actress my foot.

Perhaps a side effect of ecycling my television a few years ago, I am out of the loop.

She's always seemed nice as far as I can see. I felt badly for her when her former boyfriend turned out to be criminal scum. (No, it is not true that a person can always tell the character of someone they're involved with.)

I am concerned that her weight is so low. Les Mis was a reason, now it seems to be an excuse.

If there's anything I attach no value to, it's gossip about celebrities. I think of those gossips as hyenas, actually, that's an insult to hyenas, who are no doubt much nicer and smarter.
