It was an absolutely wonderful time.

Last week I was in Florida with Mrs. V. and my sisters. Despite a couple of health problems, we had a really fantastic time. I am so very grateful that we could make this trip happen.

Just putting it out there. In case the cosmos can't pick up my vibes of gratitude, I've put it in writing.

Oh - I might post pictures later today or later this week.

I saw my orthopedist yesterday. The ACL is strained and the medial patellofemoral ligament* is torn. (gross alert) She took two large syringes of blood out of my knee. (/gross alert) She injected steroids and put me in a torture device. It is a rigid brace that runs from hip to ankle and completely immobilizes the knee. I can only take it off to bathe. I'll see the doc next week to find out what's next.

Thanks for asking, E. How are you?

* just showing off. This is one of the ligaments that connects kneecap to femur.

ligament snapped in freaking half last year -- all he did was jump up to toss a basketball into the net and felt this "SNAP"... he's a jr. high principal and there was a student/staff after school game. He's 6'7" and was a college b-ball player.

He just fell to the ground when he landed - his lower leg was just flopping all over the place - not attached, really, to the femur. He had to have it surgically re-attached, and then he had to wear that same brace you describe for 6 weeks after the surgery. So, good thing it happened in the spring/summer, because he had to mostly ride around in the bed of their pickup truck - his legs are so long he couldn't fit into their Camry with the one leg straight in the brace. Lol. Only place he could stretch out was the back of the truck. Poor guy.

Anyway. I do hope your ligament knits itself back together -- I'm so sorry you're having to deal with it. But at least you were having fun when it happened!

to you and Mrs. V.

Yes, I was having fun. So much fun that I'd have to say it was worth it.
