Always liked Johnny and Edgar. Thanks, I would not have known and it is always good to hear Johnny again.

(21,925 posts)4. I love Johnny Winter
Although now he plays on a Gibson Firebird, the first time I heard him (in the late 60s) he was on a 1966 Fender Mustang guitar. I couldn't believe he could get such great sounds out of it because it's more of a short scale "student" guitar with inferior pick-ups, almost like a toy. My cousin had one because he was only 10 and had small hands; but for me it was unplayable. Also hard to believe and visualize is that Johnny started out playing clarinet when he was a kid. Johnny Winter took a lot of inspiration from Muddy Waters and here he is playing a Bob Dylan classic, one of his signature tunes.
