I hate that when that happens. I go to the nearest wall, throw up my hands (and arms), spread 'em and wait for the gendarme.

(16,350 posts)left that sensor doohickey on the purchased item. It didn't set off an alarm when I left the store, so I had no idea it was there. But it did set off the alarm in every other store when I entered and again when I exited. Had to go back to the first store and say, "Yo! I think we got a problem."

(14,691 posts)both times I waited for the security guard and both times they signaled I should leave. Then I got home and couldn't use my purchase because the *#)@*# security thing was stuck on. When I returned to the store(s) to get them to remove it the alarm went off again but as the jerks were looking for someone leaving....
