I've been home alone since noon . . . yea! did a bit of crock potting.

All I've done for weeks is sit here at the computer.
I'll be so happy to see 50 degree days again.

I'll be out everyday riding my trike or working.

is that magic can take care of everything in life. No more utilities, no taxes, no vehicle (flying carpets don't require anything more than a vacuuming), no food costs and no leftovers, no kitchen for that matter, and any small space can be as large (or larger) inside as the TARDIS

Although I wouldn't mind having the TARDIS, either

but I did live in a tipi for a while back in my hippie days. I sewed it myself on a treadle sewing machine. I liked it until it got really cold, then we had to move back to town and be civilized. Long story...

I really do!

I showed the picture to my daughter last summer, and for my birthday she gave me a miniature one very much like it that she had a friend of hers build for me. I'm now making a diorama featuring my crooked house.



EDIT: I'd love to live in the house in the picture, but only now and then, just for fun.

I would put it here or purchase the adjoining acreage and combine the properties. Need to look at the video again ... not sure if the house would fit on the side of the mountain or if it would be better on the hill at the back of the property ...

Sometimes I'd love to live in something like this:



other times I'd like to be in a place like where we lived when I was born. A big old pre-war NYC apartment. Realistically, I'll die here in the 'burbs. I just hope we can move to something smaller and within walking distance of town sometime while I still CAN walk. Or, I guess there's always a one of those scooters.

If they'll set me up a secluded spot up on the roof where I can do my naturist thing, that would be perfect. There's already a no-fly zone so I'd be good to go. Pity about them not allowing furriners to be President, but I suppose if we invaded I could be dictator.

the structure could use a LOT of repair and improvement, but it is a 120 year old ranch house - half adobe and the back half is a frame structure moved in place with a team of mules by my great grandfather.



oh by the way, there is an unimproved Titan silo on the place and I believe it may be for sale (again) I think the current owner did get it opened up and one of the two wells functioning (we own the other off-site well)

I saw an episode on House Hunters International and there was this house they the guy ended up buying that I loved.

My alternative place would be a condo with a nice beach and great amenities on a Caribbean island. I haven't decided which island yet. It would be key to find a place where condo fees took care of all of the maintenance issues.

I know most people probably don't feel that way, but I hate moving so I try to be selective. At least for the foreseable lifetime of my wife and I this should suit us well. The place before this one was sub-optimal, but we hit the market at a good time and scored a nice place at a good price. And we've got enough land (not that much) for a garden and to let the dogs run. It's enough for us.

The one thing I've never considered, or comprehended for that matter, is living in a flat in a major city. I need grass. I need plants. I need to see birds other than pigeons. This works for us.

I love the Cascades. I love the Rockies. There are probably other high, rocky, pine-forested mountains with cold lakes and clear streams; I'd consider them.

What sort of structure? Probably a cob house:
