Just saw a woman in a wheelchair

Last edited Fri Feb 22, 2013, 07:17 PM - Edit history (1)

being abused on the street. What looked like her able bodied partner was throwing her napsack away from her. She'd go try and fetch it and he'd pick it up and throw it furthur. I am so mad. Was just about to call the police when other people, men, got involved. Reminds me how lucky I am to be around good eggs in my family.

I hope she has or can find the support it takes to get away from an abuser.

It's very hard...emotional reasons for sure, and possibly others--financial and physical dependence for example.

screaming, which is why I noticed her on the other side of the street. Then she was struggling to pick up the bag and he wasn't helping her which made me think he. actually didn't know her. Someone picked up the bag and gave it to her and left. Then the partner grabbed it from her and threw it 10 feet away in the snow which is when I got out my phone. Thankfully three men then stepped up, one of them helping the woman, one of them on the phone to what I assume was the police. The partner looked as if he was going away without her at thay point. So she was going to be okay when I left. But I'm left with this lingering feeling that she will go home to him tonight.

So many women have few choices don't they? My best to the woman in the wheelchair.

I thought you lived in a civilised country!

Oh yes, the woman "uses a wheelchair". "Wheelchair-bound" means this:

So many stay with the people that hurt them because the deep feeling of loneliness feels far worse than the pain that those that hurt them inflect.
