(12,132 posts)great show - and he played a lot of I Robot...
As for OP:
No idea what the last vinyl i listened to was as it was in the early 90s. But I can tell you what the last vinyl I bought was: Sulphur Aeon - Deep Deep Down They Sleep.
Just bought it last week and it's a 7" ep with just 2 songs on it and I'm looking for their first LP on vinyl. I also got Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue and ordered the new vinyl re-issue of Jungle Rot's 1995 demo album Skin The Living.
I've decided to buy everything I can on vinyl from now on. I'll be filling in gaps in my old vinyl collection and adding new stuff as it comes out.
And eventually I'll get my record player set up. I suspect the first album I listen to when I do get it set up will be the Miles Davis.

(3,709 posts)Note:
The last time I played this album was in 2007, when my daughter and I were sorting through over 50 years worth of "stuff" after my husband died . . . and a year prior to my decision to sell our hilltop farm in northern West Virginia and move to the flatlands of central Ohio.

It is the Annihilation mix

(716 posts)"Ahab the Arab"
"Snoopy and the Red Barron"
"Flying Purple People Eater"
"Intsy Weensie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini"
And other songs like that. The kids love that album. The other possibility is Weather Report's "Heavy Weather".
I don't have "Brain Salad Surgery" on vinyl, but man is that a cool cover to look at when you're totally wasted AND have the album on the turn table.

(36,444 posts)I played it around the time Brubeck died. My vinyl collection is modest, and very eclectic but doesn't get much playtime when I discovered just about everything in it can be found on one of the internets.

(14,400 posts)ever bought:

Klaus Nomi: Simple Man (1982) I bought it in 1988

Then my turntable went tits up and I bought a CD player. I remember playing Tracy Chapman in the family room and my Mom saying something to the effect of... Well at least your taste in music isn't total crap.

(54,413 posts)If anyone here has ever heard of it, BRAVO!!
Best folk album in the Dutch language of the last 50 years.
Also fun: "Maiden Voyage" and "Cornbread, Kilts & Cossacks" by Holland-America Line (80s Dutch-American instrumental folk group). Their stuff was once accurately described in a review as the best of what you'd expect in the parking lot of a folk festival, when musicians of different groups got together to jam (which is pretty much what Holland-America Line was).

(1,569 posts)I'll bet no one here is familiar with it...they only released the one album, (just prior to CDs in the 80s). OK, CDs were around I think, but not everything got released on CD at that point.
