As to the video in question, if EMI owns it and doesn't want it shown on YouTube, then I'd say that's up to them.

It might easily mean nothing more than EMI decided to pull the plug.

What makes you think that this means they're moving to a paid subscription service?

Well, I watch very little commercially-produced stuff on YouTube, and I don't expect that the subscription service will touch most of the amateur upload stuff.

Still, it was only a matter of time. Nothing exists in this world unless it can be "monetized" profitably.

3. They are considering paid channels

YouTube has informed users that soon they will be trying an experiment to change the YouTube experience. Subscribers will have the opportunity to pay for certain channels.

Citing "multiple people familiar with the plans," AdAge reported Jan. 29th that YouTube has already talked to a small selection of producers about developing channels that would require a fee. YouTube is also considering charging for content libraries and access to live events, a la pay-per-view, as well as self-help or financial advice shows. The first of these channels will start as early as second quarter of 2014.

It sounds like you will be able to access content not available on Youtube now. What bothers me more is that they keep requesting that I change my screen name to my real name.
