Things about The Walking Dead that bother you

No, I don't mean the bloody gore. I mean the holes in the story, the inconsistencies, the things that just plain don't make sense, the cognitive dissonance, things like that.

I'll start:

1) Michonne's beef with Camp Governor. Yeah, because in a zombie apocalypse, being safe in a controlled environment is the last thing anyone would want.

2) So effing what if the Gov had heads in fish tanks? BFD! You routinely decapitate zombies AND non-zombies, AND you had zombie pets fer crissakes! Hypocrite.

I could go on and on, but I'll leave some for the rest of you.

Proceed.

2. The utter hypocrisy of Rick, too

He gets a phone call from his subconscious and it's all about a safe place to go that he desperately wants to join, and yet when other actual humans ask him to do the same for them, he coldly rejects them. Herschel should have much to say about this.

Every where Rick or gang go turns to shit, have you noticed?

Where in the Walking Dead world are things hunky-dory that you can compare? I'd say they're doing their best
under the circumstances.

6. I think the writers are trying not to go by the comic book so much.

They want to keep us guessing.

The writers could do a better job sometimes.

The farm was a nice peaceful place at one time, but the farm had walkers already in the barn.

The Governor attacked first.
Cut off his hand, and had the sword wielding woman brutalized.

8. We don't really know Michone's story arc yet.

I would say that she has had some seriously bad experiences when the world was normal, and doesn't expect human behavior to get any better with a zombie apocalypse.

If I were her I would assume that in her life she has always found herself at the bottom of the crab bucket. When that happens, you learn not to trust anyone and instead, you rely on yourself.

Now, she may have taken her two zombie pals along with her for the ride because they were the only two she trusted in real life and felt comfortable with using them to disguise her scent--because, really, where did she get the idea that was missed by everyone else?

However, there is one clue that was cut from the season finale that was discussed on Talking Dead that night. Michone is tired, exhausted and realizes she needs to connect with people because she can go no further on her own. The scene was when she pleaded with Rick to allow her to join them. I think it was just a lamentable "Please." But you realize that the writers will probably show all that backstory in a coming episode that will make things alright with Rick.

I am getting a little tired of seeing so many strong actors getting waylaid. It's like watching a meat grinder.

9. Maybe, but that doesn't excuse her dragging Andrea down with her

Trying to convince Andrea of how evil the Gov is because 1) he loves his little girl and can't accept her fate and 2) keeps heads in fish tanks and 3) whatever else he does.

And the scent thing, yeah, like Rick and gang have never been covered in zombie gore and noticed what a fantastic zombie repellent it is.

Maybe I should finally just get the graphic novels and get the whole story...

strangers that both the Governor and Rick have. The Governor is operating from a more "stable" environment so he does a triage of people, killing anyone who can challenge his power and allowing the less harmful ones into his town. You know he'll eventually get around to targeting Andrea if the townspeople stop listening to him, and start accepting her as a leader.

Rick is in full blown cray-cray. The constant vigilance and death toll has finally caught up with him. What he said about going away, he said to his vision of Lori. I don't think he meant it as an answer to the other four people. But, what is done, is done.

With Daryl gone, it will be between Herschel and Glenn to take over the reins of leadership. Unfortunately, there aren't many strong woman roles in this show. ANd I'm surprised to see so many ready to kill off Michone when she is the epitome of a strong woman. If she were a man, she would be Clint Eastwood with a Samurai sword.

when the governor went to "meet" the national guard guys, and then came back and said they'd already been overrun and they were too late. She found clues that indicated the governor's story was BS.

that allowing macho guys into their camp could make things go horribly wrong?

Seems that Rick learned that very lesson himself, and acted upon it when he locked those guys out in the yard with zombies.

I think Michone knows he's also using the town women as his harem. She has good reason not to trust him while Andrea just follows and falls for anything.

11. The biggest conflicts seem to be as a result of changes

I understand that the Gov. is evil and Michone hates him because he brutally rapes her in the comic books...but the TV show, (probably for good practical reasons) didn't have the Governor do that. That pretty much left Michone's hatred for him unanchored. I do understand that you can't always have characters explain things to each other, but the writers push this a bit too far in the show and it bugs me.

Michone could have made herself a much easier path by simply saying a few words to Rick, Andrea, anyone in about a dozen scenes, but instead just glares and makes sure her potential allies can't embrace her. Same (to a lesser degree) with just about everyone else. The writers seem to be drawing their inspiration from classic farce, but it just doesn't work so well in a dramatic gore fest. I totally get that everyone isn't always going to be rational in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, but they overplay the non-rational.

Bullets (and food) seem to be both magically abundant, and then rare, but then abundant again. How does a group like Tyrese's not have a single gun?

It didn't sound like they had to face too many zombies, therefore, they wouldn't have lost ammunition.
