I need help Shoveling... who is in?

Ideally I'd like to get the team who took care of this to help me out...

Here in the American northeast we've got a bit of a storm on, with six to twelve inches of snow projected to fall on Core77 HQ. That sounds like a lot of snow, until you put it in perspective by looking at the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, which connects the Japanese municipalities of Tateyama and Omachi.

More pictures and a video.

Well now that I am done shoveling I am having a beer!

Several years ago, I worked at a place that sold New Holland construction equipment and got to go out and play with a 60k plus tractor loader backhoe. They are almost impossible to get stuck. You can always pull yourself backwards with the hoe. They have great heaters and a well sealed cab. I could be out there in a t-shirt. You can spin them around really quickly by applying one of the rear wheel brakes and the other 3 are still driving(4WD). What fun.

Haven't you heard, the roads are closed. No unauthorized travel.

It's ridiculous... I work in a place where no one should be during a snow event... and yet everyone was there like nothing was happening.

So odd.

I have been watching the snow fall in New Paltz since just after daybreak.
The plows are running down my street as I type.

Please get home safely later on.

Seriously, CBS News was reporting road closures in Ct and Mass.

I am in Rochester and got home around 10, we got out of work at 9:30.

For us so far it's been a somewhat normal "lake effect type" event.

Good luck in your area, and we are both up WAY to late!

I think it's safe to say the US East Coast is not nearly prepared if that happens this weekend. There is still power out from Sandy in some parts!
