Beer and 'ludes not usually a good mix (dangerous, in fact), but the sober medic was going to
make sure that I just had the ONE with which to wash them down and no more.

Watching Armed Forces TV with him and passed out in my chair. Woke up, stood up to come
nose-to-nose with one of the (usually cool) front-gate guards, who had no legal authority or
responsibilities over us soldiers, but dressed JUST like MP's -- so I groggily assumed I was
getting busted for doing the 'ludes.

The sober medic on duty said that I was "magnificent".

Looked the "MP" straight in the eye, muttered "Fucking Christmas beer" and fell back into my
chair, out cold again.

I've always been a survivor.

And I've never been much of a fan of downs of any sort (other than alcohol). Never did
'ludes again.

Having said that, let me share this: I_T_W was very lucky in so many ways.
A good friend's father owned a pharmaceutical supply house providing I_T_W
with an unlimited supply of clean, uncut fun.

I_T_W still enjoys looking at an oil painting she did the year before the 'lude and acid trip.
Remembering how nice the water looked, wondering why it was moving.

I_T_W wonders how many more times I_T_W would have made the Dean's List if sex,
drugs and rock n roll had not been such a wonderful distraction.

6. In my family we don't need chemical enhancements to hear God.

My crazy grandma used to drink until she couldn't.

My mom's got God's phone number. She doesn't have to drink like my grandma did because she's got caller ID.

8. Acid was an incredibly difficult drug for me

Each time I danced on the edge of having a bad trip and danced on both sides most trips. So, I gave it up after less than a dozen times. That said, acid was the most important and enlightening drug I ever took and I gained far more than I lost. It was also my gateway drug as it was for so many of my friends.

I quit taking "illegal" drugs at least 20 years ago, but not because I give a damn about legality, but because I was finished with them. And they with me.

My state legalized marijuana this year and I am so very proud of us. But, that's another drug that I got done with a long time ago. Maybe I should start selling my pee on Ebay? Or would that be something more appropriate to Etsy? Interesting thought.
