If a ski jacket has a zipper, can you tell if it's a Men's or a Woman's? I found this great jacket at a used clothing store. It's white and very puffy. On the front, it says ACG. I'm dying to wear it but I don't want people to know I'm kind of a moron. Any help would be appreciated.

I wear a men's jacket when it's really cold or rainy out, and nobody can tell the difference!
As long as it fits and feels good, that's all that matters.
I'd buy it if I were you!

(7,875 posts)Even if I'm wrong about this, I wouldn't worry about it. Women wear men's clothes all the time, and nobody raises an eyebrow. In some cases it's even sexy. If it looks good on you, wear it and don't worry about it.

(12,272 posts)Maybe fitted jackets are different, but if it is puffy with a zipper, there is no difference as far as I know.
Congrats on finding a great jacket for a great price
Wear it with confidence.

(118,295 posts)I forget whether it's that women's coats have left-handed zippers and men's coats have right-handed zippers or the other way round

(12,272 posts)I think men's coats have left-handed zippers, in case they have to draw their sword with their right.

I love shopping at used clothing stores. I dress better than I ever have since starting to shop them. The key is knowing the quality brands. I don't care about sizes or genders.

(862 posts)I've never understood a lot of differences between men's and women's clothing.
Why opposite sided buttons and zippers?
Why do men's shirts come in varying neck and sleeve lengths but women's don't?
Why do men have reasonable socks, but some women's socks end at the ankle?
I'm sure there are many more insanities.
By the way, my warmest, most comfortable jacket is one I've had for years. It is a logo jacket from a former employer that only came with "wrong side" buttoning.
