The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsSo, Lounge, do you watch the Superbowl. All, or just part of it? Halftime only?
Halftime only. That's me, football bores me, as does basketball. I rarely watch sports, but if I do, it's either the Tigers or the Yankees, the Red Wings, or golf.
I always try to catch the halftime show. Last year, I thought Madonna was just ok, and did not like the bit with Nicki Minaj.
Hope Beyonce does better. Wonder if she'll sing live or lip sync?

(30,947 posts)The only thing I like about the Superbowl is the ads. But I can usually see them all on MSNBC the next day.

(115,748 posts)Sometimes I tune in to catch the ads, but mostly I don't care about football. And lately the halftime shows seem to be where washed-up celebrities go to take their last, gasping breaths. I'll be celebrating a family birthday today, so I suppose we'll watch some of it (nobody in my family cares much about the game, though), but at 8:00 we're changing the channel to watch "Downton Abbey."

(10,893 posts)Otherwise, yeah, I agree. It can be boring to sit through an entire game, and the constant commercial breaks don't help at all.

(8,492 posts)The husband is in the kitchen making me fried zucchini. I'm going to go put my Cutler jersey on (round about way of supporting the Bears former QB ).
I'm going 49ers, but really just want it to be a good (and close) game. My heart goes out to Mr. & Mrs. Harbaugh.
I love football. Next Sunday I have to figure out what to do with my freetime. It's a lot of pressure.
Instead of Cutler, I have my ASU Pat Tillman jersey and popcorn instead of zucchini. Right now, I am going between the pre-game and the golf tournament here in Phoenix. The 16th hole is awesome.
Like you I feel for the Harbaugh mom & dad.

(29,322 posts)except for the actual game itself. I hate all the spectacles. I do enjoy the end of the Super Bowl w/ team celebrating and trophy presentation.

I can recommend Gray Warrior's thread: In honor of the Stupid Bowl...stupid .gifs, though.
