Annie Haslam is awesome. I hadn't known it before, but she always performed in bare feet though I have no idea why.

(11,065 posts)Man, this brings back such memories! Camping in the White Mountains stoned as hell and lost in a forest two trees thick in the wee hours of the morning in the pouring rain... laughing our asses off at the prospect of our bodies being found weeks later and speculation over how we perished for not managing to find our way out of a two-tree forest. Good times.

No other female rock singer, with the possible exception of Ann Wilson in her heyday, had the sheer technical vocal firepower that Annie Haslam brought to bear. When I met her I was shocked at how tiny she was - maybe 5'3" and quite slim. Where that gigantic voice came from I couldn't figure out.

IIRC from an appearance of theirs on the Mike Douglas Show eons ago, Annie Haslam is deaf in one ear.
