(10,418 posts)I'm getting ready to head out to work. I've got my thermal underwear on.
In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)Don't forget your gloves.
Question: Do you have two pairs of gloves, 1 pair for fueling, a 2nd pair for everything else?
Tobin S.
(10,418 posts)I don't wear normal gloves or driving gloves.
I go to Tractor Supply Company and get these work gloves that come in a package of three. They are orange and gray. They are heavy duty and one pair will usually last me a month. I think the three packs are about $5. Not a bad deal.

(4,243 posts)I'm heading out to the gym in about 45 minutes.
Brrrr. I better let my truck warm up!
In_The_Wind
(72,300 posts)It's hard to drive when you're shivering.
I miss going to the gym. I haven't been to one in years.

It was nowhere near that cold. [img][/img]

(60,010 posts)You are apparently used to the cold.
Us residents of the far South turn into astonished paralyzed popsicles anytime the temps drop below 40.
I will say this, however....the cold temps east of the Mississippi are a more painful cold than the same cold temp on the West Coast. It is, indeed, the humidity.
sarge43
(28,941 posts)Current temp: minus 2F, winds gusting to 25mph, Humidity: 45, Dew point minus 19F, wind chill: minus 14F.
Tonight: Low temp: minus 13F, winds gusting to 25mph, possible wind chill of minus 40F.
Definitely not leaving the brass monkeys outside.
Bundled up? I look like Randy from A Christmas Story

(72,300 posts)Last time I wandered home from work through NH it was summertime.
I remember thinking how beautiful everything was.
I also remember having thoughts about how much I didn't want to be there in winter.
I'm hibernating until Spring.
Today, I'm fighting a losing battle to make a run to BJ's.
I'm outta ice cream bars. [img][/img]

(28,941 posts)I remember my Old Man going rounds with the coal furnace -- expanded my vocabulary by a factor, if not for the better.
NH is beautiful. In fact New England's landscape is one of nature's masterpieces -- one of my favorite vids.
Yeah, the winters can be tough, but, oh my, the rest of the year, worth the wait.
Right. Ice cream bars in the dead of winter. You're a player.

(30,947 posts)According to my outdoor thermometer, it is 58 degrees, but tonight a winter storm will be arriving. Some parts will be getting a lot of ice. Hopefully, it will not be my area. I have been through enough ice storms.

(72,300 posts)Ice is bad news!
There are tricks for driving on ice but it's a skill you learn through practice.
I'm glad to hear that you're clear of the mess heading your way.

(60,010 posts)Instead of building that big wall along the Mexican border, and blocking the WARM air,
we should have built it along the Canadian border to block the cold air.
Write to your Congress person RIGHT NOW!!!!

(72,300 posts)Yep. They should build a the giant wall of Canada.
I don't need their cold air invading my back yard.
I'm going back into hibernation.
