(2,488 posts)Every single "Lucky" I've ever known or heard of has come to an early and terminal end.
I'm not superstitious but I've seen it too many times, and in my experience it's always happened.
Please. Really, it can't hurt to just change a name a little...

'Unlucky' names seem to be much
Let's say beneficial
Than names like Lucky -- don't know why and don't have as much evidence as the 'Lucky' name.
One example I can give you absolutely first-hand is a stray grey kitten I homed LONG time ago.
The husband jokingly called him, first thing and as a joke: Ding
Ding. As in the Chinese dishes -- like that/s what he was gonna end up as.
Mom and the kids loved him on sight (Pops wasn't too happy but...) and that was his name: Ding.
Now you never know about people, they can boot a young cat out the door as soon as it's not a cuddly kitten anymore. They can move and take cat to kill shelter or worse leave it in the home or again fend for itself. They can take as gospel that a new apt. Or house is much more important than a member of the family.
Anyways, Ding lived with the same family all his life (and he wasn't one of those 'beautiful' cats like a Longhaired Russian Blue or a pure white or a lovely lilac -- he was a plain grey. But Ding lived a loved charmed life for over 20 years and they have his ashes. When the family go's a part of his ashes is going with each of them.
Does this mean nice or 'mean' names mean anything? Prolly not.
But I know what I've witnessed and I know what names I'd use or not use.
I love BellaDona. (Splits out to Beautiful and Hispanic Lady -- lovely)
I just hope the adopting family's friends don't know too much about XXX Porno.
Can't say anything unlucky about Belladona -- but one certain nasty lady named after the poison mushroom?
Lol yeah, I've heard a bit. :/
Edit
GREAT NEWS!
I checked the spelling of that nasty porno star: she spells it
Belladonna!
Yeesh, maybe I AM getting superstitious in my waning years, but this makes me VERY happy. LOL
